Small bones found at playground construction site on Sydney's Northern Beaches
A small collection of bones have been found at a playground on Sydney's Northern Beaches, with police currently working to determine if they are human.
The bones were found at lunchtime on Thursday at Clontarf Reserve, near Clontarf Beach, at Middle Harbour, beneath a popular children's playground which is currently undergoing improvements.
Few details have been released by police while they investigate the matter, however it has been reported that no major bones, such as a skull, were found among the remains.

"Police were called just after 12.15pm yesterday when bones were found at a construction site on Clontarf Beach," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
"Police setup a crime scene where they seized the remains which will undergo forensic examination to determine if they are human and their origin."

Construction on the site has been closed while investigations are underway.
A spokesman for NSW Police told 9News.com.au that it may take up to a week to determine if the bones are human or otherwise.
