Sydney sinkhole swallows truck as rain continues
A truck has been removed after it fell into a sinkhole in Sydney's east this morning.
The truck's front tyres became partially submerged when it drove into the sinkhole on Bay Street, Double Bay, just after 9am.
Emergency crews spent hours trying to free it, with water cut off to dozens of surrounding buildings.

Woollahra Council said the partial road collapse was caused by a nearby water main which burst due to the overnight downpour.
Parts of Sydney's CBD saw more than 40mm of rain overnight and other regions along the NSW coastline broke July records, with over 160mm of rain, damaging winds and hazardous surf.
Photos sent to 2GB's Ben Fordham showed the vehicle cordoned off with emergency tape.
There were earlier road closures in place on Bay Street and nearby Guilfoyle Avenue, and traffic remains busy in the area as crews continue to clean up.
