Sierra Leone declared Ebola free

A year after Australia set up an Ebola treatment clinic in Sierra Leone, the country has received the all clear from the World Health Organisation.

Canberra-based Aspen Medical's clinic admitted 216 patients and saved 36 lives during its operation from December 2014 until April this year without any medical staff becoming infected.

"Our teams have worked selflessly and with great courage in the face of the worst outbreak of the worst communicable disease known," Aspen spokesman Andrew Walker said.
