Shots fired into west Sydney home

Bullet holes have been found in the side of a house in southwest Sydney.

Police were called to the house on Hillview Parade at Lurnea about 5.50pm (AEDT) on Thursday after occupants found damage to the premises.

Officers confirmed shots had been fired into the house's brickwork and a window.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Nearby residents have reported hearing noises similar to fireworks on Wednesday night.

Police are investigating and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
