Second Melbourne restaurant fire sends smoke over CBD

Firefighters are battling a restaurant fire in Melbourne’s Chinatown district, after a blaze broke out at Minh Xuong on Russell Street.
The restaurant has been evacuated and Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) crews are at the scene, MFB tweeted.

Russell Street has been closed to traffic near Chinatown, with drivers urged to avoid the area.
The fire has also created large amounts of smoke in the CBD, MFB said.
The blaze broke out hours after an earlier restaurant fire at Red Spice Road on McKillop Street.
