Scientists meet MPs face to face

Science Minister Ian Macfarlane doesn't regard himself a geek, but that won't stop him embracing the annual Science Meets Parliament Week.

Hundreds of the nation's brightest and best are in Canberra on Tuesday and Wednesday for face-to-face meetings with parliamentarians.

Mr Macfarlane says he's STEM-educated (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) but is happy to admit his parliamentary secretary Karen Andrews is the "geek" in his portfolio.
