Schapelle Corby shows off her new Learner’s driving licence

Schapelle Corby is now legally permitted to drive after earning her Queensland Learner’s driving licence.

The 40-year-old posted a photo to her Instagram account today showing off a new L plate and her driving licence with her address and identifying details covered - but not everyone took the occasion so seriously.

“Are those lines of coke on your card?” one Instagram user said.

“I thought you were literally holding a joint to cover your (address),” said another.

In the post, Ms Corby also joked about her mother, Rosleigh Rose, being her designated supervisor driver who will overlook her driving practice.

"Driving around with the old 'L' plates on now,” she said.

“And my Mums in the passenger seat (sic).”

Ms Corby’s supporters were quick to voice their approval of the photo, with many offering their congratulations.

“I pass on our congratulations! Nothing makes me smile as much as seeing young people taking initiative like you Pelle,” one person said.

Ms Corby has been living a lavish lifestyle on the Gold Coast since serving almost 13 years for drug smuggling in a Balinese jail and then returning to Australia.

In September last year, it was reported she had applied for financial assistance from the taxpayer-paid dole system, which would grant her a $530 fortnightly entitlement if approved.
