Sam Ibrahim jailed for at least six years for conspiring to supply illegal guns

Former bikie boss Hassan 'Sam' Ibrahim has been sentenced to at least six years' jail for conspiring to supply prohibited firearms in Sydney in 2014.

The oldest brother of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim had gone into the business of supplying illegal guns and was caught trying to sell five glock pistols to undercover police.

Ibrahim didn't flinch as he was sentenced to nine years with a non-parole period of six. With time already served he could be free by June 2021.

He had tried to use his ice addiction as a mitigating factor but Judge Anthony Blackmore didn’t buy it, saying the case was about obtaining deadly weapons to put into the community for profit.

“These pistols could have caused immeasurable damage to the community,” Justice Blackmore said.

He said there was strong support for strict gun laws in the wake of the Port Arthur massacre.

Ibrahim's sister Jazz Dior was also implicated in the racket and is serving 18 months' jail for her role. Former Rose Tattoo drummer and key player Paul de Marco was previously given six years.
