Woman dies and boy critically injured in South Australian crash

A woman has died and a young boy is in a critical condition after a crash on South Australia's Limestone Coast.

Police were called to Donovans Road at Wye at about 12.30pm on Friday, after they received a call about a crash between a truck and a car.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old woman from Western Australia, died at the scene.

An eight-year-old boy, who was in the backseat of the car, was taken to The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne with critical injuries.

A 36-year-old man, a six-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The truck driver, a 58–year-old man, was uninjured.

He is assisting police with their enquiries.
