A 29-year-old woman barred from Adelaide Oval for three months after an incident at the Port Adelaide-Richmond AFL match on Sunday is not a member of Port Adelaide, the club says.

The woman, from suburban Rosewater, was removed from the ground during the game and issued with the three-month ban on Wednesday.

Police said it related to offensive behaviour but declined to elaborate.

In a statement Port Adelaide said it had investigated the incident and determined the woman was not one of its members.

The club also declined to give details of the woman's behaviour but said it supported the barring order.

"The club does not tolerate any form of abusive behaviour from spectators at Adelaide Oval," the statement said.

Port Adelaide released a spectator code of conduct last June reinforcing a commitment to creating a safe, comfortable and exciting game-day experience for all members and supporters.
