Wanted man's body found off SA coast

A man who tried to avoid arrest by diving into the sea off South Australia has been found dead.

Police were chasing the man in Ceduna on the Eyre Peninsula just after 6pm on Saturday when he jumped into the water off Dowling Crescent.

The man swam about 200m before patrols lost sight of him.

A search was carried out on Saturday night and Sunday, and his body was retrieved from the water about 10.30am.

Police say the man was from interstate.
