Two charged with drugs offences in SA

Two men have been charged after a search of their car in the South Australian town of Penong, on the Nullabor Plain, allegedly uncovered a haul of drugs.

Police say officers stopped the pair on the Eyre Highway yesterday afternoon after their car was spotted doing 123km/h in a 110km/h zone.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a substance believed to be heroin, amphetamine, a set of scales and almost $5000 in cash.

The men aged 45 and 56 have both been charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and unlawful possession.
