Total fire ban for two SA districts

A fire ban has been declared for parts of South Australia as temperatures are predicted to soar into the 40s.

The Country Fire Service has issued a total fire ban for the North West Pastoral and West Coast districts on Sunday as the mercury is predicted to hit the low-to-mid 40s on Sunday.

Due to the dry and hot weather, the CFS has issued a total fire ban for the towns of Andamooka, Coober Pedy, Glendambo, Marla, Mintabie and Ernabella, Roxby Downs and Woomera.

Residents hailing from the West Coast district - which encompasses the townships of Ceduna, Elliston, Streaky Bay and Wudinna - will also suffer through soaring temperatures before relief descends on the state from Tuesday.

Although a little cooler, Adelaide residents will still be subject to temperatures in the mid-to-high 30s, with Sunday predicted to reach 34C and Monday and Tuesday 37C.
