Man to be charged after bodies found in SA

A man suspected of the murder of a woman and two children near Adelaide has left hospital under heavy police guard.

Police found the bodies of a five-year-old boy, six-year-old girl and 29-year-old woman inside a rural property in Hillier on Monday afternoon.

The 30-year-old man was found outside the home and is expected to be charged with murder.

He was initially held at Lyell McEwin Hospital but was later taken away by detectives in an unmarked police car, wearing a blue jumpsuit and a hood over his face.

Detectives remain at the scene of the large, secluded property on Jack Cooper Drive, about an hour north of Adelaide.

Officers were called to the property about 1.30pm local time and searched inside after speaking to three men at the scene.

Police declined to say how the victims died or whether they were related to the suspect but said the incident appeared to be linked to domestic violence.

"This matter doesn't involve any other people and it does appear at this stage to be domestic related," Chief Inspector Alby Quinn told reporters.

Locals were shocked to learn of the violence that had taken place in the normally quiet town.

"I've only just come around the corner, home from work, and saw everything and thought `what's going on?'," a neighbour told reporters at the scene.

"It's close to home. It's not good."

The suspect is expected to face court on Tuesday.
