Teenagers charged over Adelaide break-ins

Two teenage boys have been charged with breaking into and robbing an Adelaide home and attempted to invade another.

Police say up to three young people fled a Royston Park home early on Tuesday after the owner caught them trying to break in and officers found a car running nearby that had been stolen from a Payneham home earlier in the night.

Soon after police arrested two boys at the nearby Marden shopping centre, one of whom was allegedly wearing a watch taken from the same Payneham home.

The boys, a 17-year-old from Greenacres and a 14-year-old from Parafield, have been charged over the attempted break-in at Royston Park and the break-in and theft at Payneham.

The 14-year-old has been refused bail and will face the Adelaide Youth Court on Tuesday while the 17-year-old is likely to be bailed and face court at a later date.

Police are investigating whether the pair was also involved in stealing another car from a Hectorville home earlier in the night which was found in St Morris.

The car was involved in a petrol drive-off at a service station in Stepney.
