Suspicious blaze guts empty Adelaide home

A suspicious fire has destroyed an unoccupied house in suburban Adelaide.

The Smithfield home went up in flames about 4.30am on Friday and while firefighters were able to control the blaze police say the building had been gutted.

The damage bill had been set at $200,000 and investigators are at the site.
