A surf shop owner in South Australia has publicly shamed an alleged shoplifter, posting video of the woman on Facebook.

Matt Parry, who runs The Surf Shop in Victor Harbor, south of Adelaide, has vowed to do the same again to try to stop people stealing from his store.

"We run a few small businesses locally in SA, we fork out thousands every week in rent, wages, taxes and overheads and when thieving scum like this steal from us it won't be tolerated," Mr Parry wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.

His video shows a woman who appears to place an item in her baby's pram.

Mr Parry suggests other people in the store are also in on the alleged crime.

He says signs in his shop clearly state that if people steal from his shop they will be publicly humiliated.
