South Australia Liberal candidate under fire for controversial comments labelling feminism, homosexuality 'demonic'
A Liberal candidate in South Australia's state election has come under fire for controversial comments calling feminism and homosexuality "demonic".
The Labor Party slammed the views as extreme, but while Opposition Leader Ashton Hurn didn't condone the comments, she didn't condemn them either.
Carston Woodhouse was a relative unknown heading into next week's election until the controversial comments surfaced yesterday.

"Who knows what demonic realms we've opened up to the world, to ourselves on the earth, when you forsake it by accepting homosexuality," Woodhouse said on the podcast Elijahfire.
The candidate for the northern suburbs seat of Wright also affirmed his belief that a child conceived through rape or incest should not be aborted and questioned the legitimacy of same-sex marriage.
"There is this whole reality that pretends same-sex marriage is real," he said.
"It's not and it ignores decades of conventions between a man and a woman."

His comments revolved around spirituality with some detailing the supernatural.
"I've also seen people do crazy things with supernatural love where they've hugged witches that have come into church services and hugged them and watched them melt," he claimed.
Labor spokesman Blair Boyer slammed the views as extreme.
"These aren't mild views, come on, this is 'feminism is demonic', 'homosexuality is demonic', 'I've seen witches melt', 'it's a spiritual war'," he said.
"Either this is the views of the Liberal party now - it's either that or they didn't vet him."

Liberal leader Hurn today refused to condemn the comments.
"I do not share those views at all," she said.
"He's entitled to them, he is a man of faith and that's a matter for him."
Hurn confirmed Woodhouse would remain the party's candidate for next week's election.
