Shots fired into home and car in South Australian drive-by shooting

South Australian police are appealing for information after a house was repeatedly shot at while a mother and her baby slept inside.

Around 5.45am yesterday, a woman was asleep at her home on Baldock Road, Waikerie in the state’s Riverland region, when she was woken by the sounds of multiple gunshots.

Police believe three shots were fired into the house and her car.

The woman told investigators she saw a green or silver Mitsubishi Magna speeding away from the scene.

No one was injured in the incident and neighbours believe it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Police are investigating the incident but are so far unable to determine a motive for the shooting.
