An Adelaide woman has been reunited with her long-lost diamond engagement ring after it was pawned at a second-hand dealer.

Police say the woman responded to a call for information about the ring after it was seized from a second-hand dealer in Adelaide's eastern suburbs.

The ring, which was handcrafted with 45 diamonds and 14 sapphires, was stolen during a home invasion in 2001.

Valuations of the ring, wedding photographs and the maker's mark confirmed the woman as the owner.

A 47-year-old Adelaide woman was arrested and charged with unlawful possession and providing false information after she allegedly pawned the ring in July.

The woman will face court at a later date.
