Help provided to confused SA woman in Bali

Australia is providing consular assistance to an Adelaide woman found confused on a Bali beach.

"The woman's situation was brought to our attention by a group of medically-qualified Australian travellers, who kindly provided assistance to her," the department of foreign affairs said in a statement on Monday.

"We commend the support provided by these fellow Australians."

The woman, identified as Katrina Smith, was found on a beach on the weekend but had been spotted in the Kuta area for up to three weeks before a traveller took her in.

The brother of the 20-year-old has told the Adelaide Advertiser that he had been alerted to her situation after an extensive social media campaign.
