SA woman faces trial over stabbing murder

A 19-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty to the stabbing murder of a male acquaintance in Adelaide.

Appearing via video link from prison on Friday, Antoinette Jacobson offered to plead guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court to the lesser charge of manslaughter over the death of 28-year-old James Gaye at a unit in suburban Mansfield Park in January.

Prosecutors rejected the offer and Magistrate David Whittle ordered Jacobson to be arraigned to stand trial in the South Australian Supreme Court on August 8.
