A long-running investigation into drug trafficking around South Australia's Limestone Coast has broken links between the region and drug peddlers in Melbourne and Adelaide.

So far 15 people have been arrested and charged with drug offences, including trafficking, since the operation began earlier this year.

Police say Operation Addenine has led them to properties in Glencoe, Mount Gambier, Millicent, Lucindale and Hillcrest.

Most of the properties held illegal items that were seized, including wads of cash to the tune of $43,000, three stolen cars and four guns.

Police also found 12 litres of the drug 1,4 Butandeiol, known as 'fantasy', 305g of methamphetamine and smaller amounts of heroin, cocaine, MDMA powder and cannabis.

The crackdown in the region straddling the SA and Victorian borders has involved police from both states and local investigators, with the leader of the local team, Inspector Rob Badenoch, calling it "an outstanding success".
