SA policeman suffers suspected broken jaw

A police officer is nursing a suspected broken jaw and nose after being punched in the face during a domestic violence call-out in Adelaide.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after allegedly lashing out at the officer who'd approached him in a car at Somerton on Monday afternoon.

Police allege the man jumped fences and ran across the rooftops of several houses before assaulting a second officer when confronted in a nearby street.

He is expected to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
