SA police zero in on 15-year Goodwin case

A 15-year investigation into a missing woman on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula has narrowed this year with police clearing seven possible suspects.

Phone calls from the community and prison inmates have provided useful information about Susan Goodwin, whose last known siting was at her Port Lincoln home in 2002, police say.

"The team has been deployed to Port Lincoln repeatedly and we will continue to have a strong presence," Detective Superintendent Des Bray said.

Ms Goodwin's father, Don, made a public plea for information earlier this year while being treated for cancer.

But both he and the missing woman's mother, Margaret, have since died without their daughter's body being found.

Supt Bray said more than 50 calls to Crime Stoppers were vital in clearing the seven "persons of interest".

"That is a very significant outcome as it has allowed us to narrow the focus of this investigation," he said.
