Trial delayed in SA triple murder

An undisclosed development has delayed the start of a trial for a man accused of killing his partner and her two children.

Steven Graham Peet came before the Supreme Court on Monday charged with the murder of Adeline Yvette Rigney-Wilson, 29, and her children, aged five and six, at a property north of Adelaide in May 2016.

Defence counsel Bill Boucaut asked for the arraignment and the trial of his client to be delayed until Tuesday because of a development late last week.

He said he was not in a position to provide details of the development.

However, the court was told that the trial was still expected to take about two weeks and that prosecution and defence counsel were close to finalising an agreed statement of facts.

Peet has elected to be tried by a judge sitting without a jury.
