SA man fights for life after hammer attack

A man is fighting for life following a brawl involving a hammer and a golf club in Adelaide's northern suburbs.
Police were called to Underdown Road at Elizabeth South about 12:30pm on Tuesday following reports of an altercation between two men, one armed with a hammer and the other with a golf club.
A 49-year-old man was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening head injuries and is currently undergoing emergency surgery.

A 46-year-old Elizabeth South man has been charged over the incident and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police say both men are known to each other.
