SA man arrested after fleeing police

An Adelaide driver has been caught doing burnouts before he crashed into a tree and hurt his ankle trying to flee police.

The 27-year-old was spotted in Adelaide's northern suburbs late on Wednesday night, and was arrested after ditching the crashed car and injuring his ankle in an attempt to jump a fence.

He will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date charged with offences including the misuse of a car, driving without a licence and using unassigned number plates.
