SA Libs to limit rate hikes
AAP
The South Australian opposition will introduce legislation to parliament to cap future increases in council rates.
The Local Government Amendment Bill will give power to the Essential Services Commission of South Australia to set the level of rate increases each year.
"The Labor government will now have to choose between supporting households and businesses, or maintaining the status quo where South Australians are hit with unnecessary rate hikes," Opposition Leader Steven Marshall said.
