SA kangaroo count underway

South Australia's annual kangaroo count is underway to provide information on kangaroo populations across the state.

The aerial survey, conducted since 1978, will cover 211,000 square kilometres over the next four weeks.

"The kangaroo count will help us to better understand kangaroo numbers and the effect of environmental conditions on the animals, Environment Minister Ian Hunter said.
