South Australia's biggest employment expo will focus on emerging industries to create jobs for the future, Premier Jay Weatherill says.

JOBEX will be held in Port Augusta and Murray Bridge as well as Adelaide to allow regional areas to benefit from the growing opportunities.

"As traditional industries wind down, jobs are being created in growing industries such as defence, tourism and energy," Mr Weatherill said.

Regional areas such as the Upper Spencer Gulf were doing it tough after the job losses in mining and energy but could capitalise on the digital era, the premier said.

"We are looking for talent wherever we can find it, all the way across South Australia," he said.

"We want children living a long way from metropolitan areas to think they have a future in these growing sectors of the South Australian economy."
