An Islamic school in South Australia is confident about ongoing federal funding after being warned to fix up its books.

Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham has placed schools in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth on notice until April 11, after two schools in Sydney and Canberra had their funding cut for "inappropriately" using taxpayer money.

The Islamic College of South Australia has already met most of the requirements, says board chairwomen Miriam Silva, and "As for the rest, we are well on our way to full compliance."
