SA heatwave prompts fire bans

Total fire bans have been declared in seven South Australian districts ahead of another forecast heatwave.
The mercury is set to reach 37C in Adelaide on Wednesday before climbing to 38C on Thursday, capping off one of the warmest Decembers on record in SA.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to high 30s into next week.
Severe fire danger is forecast for Wednesday in the west coast, lower south east, eastern Eyre Peninsula, lower Eyre Peninsula, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island districts.
Total fire bans will be in place in each district.
