SA bus driver punched, hit with bottle

A man has been accused of striking a bus driver in the face with a long neck beer bottle after punching him in Adelaide's north.

The alleged attack unfolded on a bus on Burton Road at Paralowie about 6:30pm on Wednesday, with police finding a 39-year-old Kent Town man nearby who they have charged with aggravated assault.

He was taken to Modbury Hospital for treatment for minor injuries from the incident and bailed to face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

The bus driver, a man in his 60s, had a large lump over his left eye when police arrived at the scene and was treated there by ambulance officers.

The beer bottle did not smash on impact.
