SA budget to drop River Murray levy

A levy on South Australians to help save the River Murray will be abolished in the state budget on Thursday.

Premier Jay Weatherill says the move will save households $40 a year and businesses $182.

He says the levy, which was first imposed in 2003, is no longer needed.
