SA blocks online gambling on eSports

South Australia has blocked online gambling through games known as eSports.

The Independent Gambling Authority has been directed not to approve betting on computer game sporting events.

eSports typically refers to competitive single or multiplayer computer games, usually played by professionals.

There are concerns children would be particularly vulnerable to the attraction of such contests.
