Industrial action will begin on Thursday at the Port Adelaide wharf after workers voiced concerns over rostering and worker fatigue issues.

The Maritime Union of Australia says it intends to impose a 24-hour ban on moving containers starting at 10pm as well as other industrial action amid concerns over staff numbers and excessive hours.

"Our members have run out of patience and have no confidence that the container terminal management are negotiating in good faith," deputy national secretary Will Tracey said in a statement.
