Police take 50 calls over SA murder case

Police have taken almost 50 calls over the murder of a homeless woman in Adelaide last month but are still to confirm her identity.

The victim is believed to be 32-year-old Rose-Marie Sheehy, who came to South Australia from the Northern Territory in January.

Her decomposing remains were found two weeks ago in the storeroom of a basement car park in Adelaide. But police say a lack of fingerprints and dental records is complicating the process of confirming her identity.

"Forensic analysis is currently being undertaken using DNA samples obtained from family members interstate and it may still be days before a result is known and whether those results are conclusive," Detective Superintendent Des Bray said on Wednesday.

"We understand the anguish the delay causes family and friends and are working hard to achieve a formal identification as quickly as possible."

Supt Bray said Crime Stoppers had taken 49 calls about the murder with people offering information.

Police have also released images of Ms Sheehy taken off CCTV footage from a gaming venue in Adelaide on April 8.
