Police car hit by tree in fire zone

A police car has been hit by a falling tree in a bushfire zone in the Adelaide Hills.

The officers were on patrol on Kersbrook Road, within the fire-affected area, when the tree struck the rear of the car at about 11am on Wednesday, smashing the rear window and boot.

There were no injuries.

The town of Kersbrook has been the worst hit by the fire with 12 homes were razed.

Police say a number of fire-affected trees in the area still need to be cleared.

"This incident highlights the dangers posed to emergency services or anyone else present in the fire affected area," police said.
