A new $32 million simulator in South Australia will help prepare Australian navy personnel to deal with missile attacks.

BAE Systems Australia has won a three-year contract from the navy for the Future Advanced Threat Simulator service at the Edinburgh Defence Precinct in Adelaide's north.

The company says it will design, manufacture, test and deliver the service, with work starting next month; it will create 20 engineering jobs.
