A man has been charged with manslaughter after another man died following an early morning brawl in Adelaide's CBD.

Police were called after reports a group of men were fighting on Hindley Street and found 22-year-old Jack Hanley unresponsive.

Paramedics tried to save the Glandore man, but he died at the scene.

Mr Hanley's sister Caity today posted a tribute on Facebook to her "beautiful little brother".

"The pain for us all is immeasurable so I ask each and every one of you to go find the people that mean the most to you and remind them that you love them," the post read.

"I love you JH."

Detectives believe up to 10 people were involved in the brawl and are still searching for those who fled the scene.

"We're trying to establish whether it was a one punch or a series of punches or whether it was a fight that resulted in someone being hit," Detective Chief Inspector Charmaine Peters said.

A 22-year-old man was arrested this afternoon and charged with manslaughter.

He was refused bail and is expected to front the Adelaide Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

Hindley Street has since been reopened to traffic.
