Man to face trial over Adelaide siege

One of two men charged over an 11-hour siege in Adelaide has been committed to stand trial.

Anthony David Busuttil pleaded not guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday to a string of offences related to the siege at a real estate office in June last year.

He was ordered to stand trial in the District Court while his co-accused, Stephen Guy Mann, will return to the Adelaide Magistrates Court next month.

The siege began after two men were spotted on the roof of the inner-city offices.

Parts of Adelaide's CBD were closed off as heavily armed tactical police surrounded the building.

More than five hours into negotiations bullets were fired and police said Mann was shot in the upper chest and taken to hospital.

They said Busuttil was found in an office after officers swept the building and surrounding areas.
