Man suffers burns in Adelaide house fire

A man has suffered burns to his face and body while trying to extinguish a fire at his Adelaide home.
Authorities say the 60-year-old used a garden hose to try to put out the blaze, which broke out at his Ascot Park home on Monday morning.
He suffered burns to his face, arms and upper chest and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

It took eight firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which is estimated to have caused about $40,000 damage.
Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
