Man driving uninsured Ferrari 'purchased only a week ago' crashes into tree in South Australia

A passenger has been seriously injured after the driver of an uninsured Ferrari, reportedly purchased only a week ago, smashed into a tree in North Brighton last night.

The 1991 Ferrari 348, worth between $90k and $110k, crashed around 8.25pm last night on King George Ave, the Adelaide Advertiser reports.

The driver was uninjured and a male passenger suffered head and leg injuries. ​

A South Australia Ambulance spokeswoman said the passenger was conscious when paramedics attended the scene.

Traffic Superintendent Garry Stewart said that speed was likely a factor and there was no evidence of drink-driving.
