Man killed by semi-trailer in SA car park

A truck driver is dead after being crushed by his own semi-trailer while unloading goods at an Adelaide supermarket.

The Victor Harbor man was at the shopping centre in Kensington Gardens when he was struck by the truck about 5.30pm on Friday.

Witnesses told News Corp the truck driver was unloading goods behind a supermarket when his truck suddenly rolled forward.

It is understood the driver attempted to get back in the truck but got caught under the grille.

The 45-year-old was treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital but died on arrival.

Police and SafeWork SA investigators are examining the circumstances of the crash.
