Man charged with attacking Adelaide woman

A man is behind bars after he allegedly punched a woman several times in Adelaide during an unprovoked attack.

The woman, 38, was attacked from behind on Pirie St in Adelaide's CBD on Friday and repeatedly punched as she lay on the ground.

A 36-year-old man was on Saturday charged with assault causing harm and has been remanded into custody to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates' Court next week.
