Man charged over year old SA assault

A man has been charged with assaulting two people and stealing a car in South Australia a year ago.

In March last year the accused allegedly attacked a man while he was hooking a caravan up to his car in Hampstead Gardens, and then a woman who tried to help the victim, before stealing the vehicle.

Police say the car has since been recovered along with DNA evidence, and a 40-year-old man was charged over the incident in Mount Gambier on Wednesday.
