Man charged over SA WWI medals theft

A man has been charged after stolen World War I medals, including medals from the Gallipoli campaign, were recovered by South Australian police.

The medals were stolen from the digger's grandson's Yorke Peninsula home on Wednesday and were recovered during a search of another home in the area, police said.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and will appear in the Maitland Magistrates Court on December 8 charged with serious criminal trespass, theft, firearms and drug offences.
