Man charged after ICAC inquiry in SA
A senior public official has been charged with abuse of office after an investigation by South Australia's corruption watchdog.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption alleges the 56-year-old improperly exercised influence to benefit a company between January 2013 and January 2014.
He is due to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on May 26.
The SA ICAC does not hold public hearings when investigating complaints, and cases are usually only revealed when charges are laid.
Last month a 47-year-old woman was charged with almost 350 theft and dishonesty offences, and a 61-year-old man with six counts of abuse of public office.
At the time Commissioner Bruce Lander said he had referred a number of matters for prosecution and details of more cases would be revealed in due course.
