Man assaults two SA police

Two police have minor injuries after being assaulted by a man in Adelaide's north.

The officers were called after reports of a man who appeared intoxicated standing in the middle of a road in Clearview and they say the man became aggressive towards them, punching them and forcing them to use a baton and capsicum spray to subdue him.

The man, aged 20 from Northfield, was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital for a mental health assessment and will be charged on summons.
